Songkran Festival - Buddhist New Year   2018: April 13 - 17

Recently, Phimai has become a more than regional center for young Thais to gather

in order to celebrate the Buddhist New Year from April 13 to 15.

All through these holidays while daylight lasts, the entire town including the immediate vicinity

of Moon River Resort becomes the site of a seemingly never ending circle of thousands of

paraders on foot, motorbikes and [mostly] pick-ups, joyfully dancing and giving tender

powder caresses and cold water splashes to each other – and to everyone venturing to participate.
